Teaching & Learning Center: interprofessional health education

Make a Gift

The new Teaching and Learning Center is a signature project in education at UCSF. Make a gift to support the center's innovative programs:

Kanbar Center for Simulation and Clinical Skills Education

Kanbar Center for Simulation and Clinical Skills Education offers specialized training environments that support teaching and practice of essential diagnostic and care delivery skills. These environments are designed as "broadcast studios" that will allow us to reconfigure the environments to simulate different health care and emergency settings. In addition, the facility will use state-of-the-art technology to simulate, capture, broadcast and assess learning. Donate directly to the Kanbar Center.

Teaching & Learning Technology Commons

The Teaching and Learning Technology Commons (TLTC) in a realization of UCSF Strategic Vision - "to develop educational facilities and infrastructures to keep UCSF at the forefront of health sciences education and meet the growing demand for health care professionals."

The TLTC is designed to create an exceptional learning environment for today's academic users, including students and faculty who learn and work in collaborative, learner-centered, web-based instructional environments. The promixity to advanced clinical training facilities and classrooms provides a unique environment for learning and teaching.

TLTC's technology-rich environment offers specially designed spaces for individual and group learning and collaboration along with an advanced infrastructure and expert staff. The TLTC enables UCSF to lead in the development of health sciences learning technologies for the future.

Classrooms

The Teaching and Learning Center is setting a new standard of smart classrooms with multiple-point projection within one classroom to facilitate interactive small-group learning and teaching. The center will include 6 versatile classrooms that can be subdivided to a total of 8 rooms. The two largest classrooms can each be split in half to seat either 24 or 48. Smaller classrooms offer westerly views and seat 20. To make a gift for our classrooms email Kristin Kleinhofer or call 415-476-5134.
